Macuch Steel proudly supported the expansion of the Port of Wilmington’s refrigerated container yard, a key infrastructure project for North Carolina Ports aimed at boosting cold chain capacity and efficiency. The project involved the fabrication and erection of a reefer rack system to accommodate the growing demand for refrigerated cargo. Macuch Steel supplied and installed 515 tons of structural steel, delivering eight 4-rack units and eighteen 8-rack units, complete with stairs, railings, metal grating, and bollards. Leveraging the expertise of four divisions, Structural Steel, Steel Erection, Stair & Rail, and EMCO, Macuch Steel played a vital role in enhancing the port’s ability to handle over 1,500 refrigerated containers, supporting regional agriculture and global trade.
