Macuch Steel Revamps our Safety Program

Although we previously had an extensive safety program in place, we’re always striving to create a safer environment.  We have spent the past year revamping our safety program. OSHA, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, sets the minimum requirement by law for safety in the workplace with standards such as OSHA 1910 and OSHA 1926.  Although we’ve always exceeded OSHA’s minimum standards, our Executive Team decided to take our safety program to the next level.

To improve our already stellar program, we first conducted mock OSHA inspections at all our facilities to find potential deficiencies and liabilities. Any potential deficiencies were quickly corrected.  Our maintenance crew and production facilities also diligently worked (and continue to work) to correct any potential issues so all our facilities are OSHA compliant. We continue to hold weekly and bi-weekly safety training sessions to ensure all our employees are up-to-date and aware of the latest safety measures.

Additionally, we have upgraded and enhanced our audio and visual safety measures.  These improvements have allowed us to further our safety precautions on the production floor and throughout the entire property to ensure the utmost care is taken in regards to personal safety and traffic to protect employees in the facility and while out in the yard.  This includes measures such as adding additional stop signs.

We have also gone beyond workplace safety and have begun holding safety seminars to continue fostering a culture of safety at our facility. We recently brought in a representative from AT&T who presented on distracted driving and what is involved in safe driving. Attendees had the opportunity to use a simulator, which showed them how dangerous distracted driving is and what the repercussions can be.

At Macuch Steel our goal has always been safety.  We will continue to offer our employees the opportunity to improve as well as ensure they always have the latest safety and equipment certifications. To learn more, visit our website. We also provide more company news on Twitter and LinkedIn.
